NCPE Endowment Programs


The NCPE Grant Program is in place to provide funds for creative and innovative projects that are student-based with the objective of improving student achievement.  Projects that address reading, mathematics, social studies, science and the arts will be considered. Please review and complete the grant application

 

Grants awarded 2023-2024: 

  • Mrs Wozniak / Mrs. Capello Reading Program:  5th Grade Gator Book Club.  Prize incentivized reading program for the 5th grade.  Program will last the entire year and commence with pizza party and gift cards to the those students who read the most.
  • Mrs. Wozniak STEM Moblile Museum:  Mobile museum that will be setup in the gym for the 5th graders.  STEM stations will include 3D Printing, electrical digital microscopes, robotics and bike spin art.  Mollie museum cost $1695.00
  • Mrs Williams 3rd Grade Recorders:  Mrs. Williams is looking to purchase recorders for the 3rd grade.  The program will start in January 2024 and the entire 3rd grade will learn to play over the next 5 months.Each child will receive a recorder with zipper case and instrument instruction book.    In addition to the recorders, we will need to purchase a 13month online teacher’s instructional license for 3 devices.The total cost for this program is $914.67.
  • Mrs. Eisinger Recess Crochet:  Mrs. Eisinger has raised a grant for $250.00 to provide open crocheting lesson during recess.  After teaching an ASE class in crocheting this fall there have been several students who has approached her on how to learn.  In an informal session there were about 70 students who were interested in learning more. In addition to being creative, crocheting has several benefits such as reducing stress and anxiety, and strengthening fine motor skills
  • Mrs. Gromada’s Unique Creature Assembly:  1st grade to have two, 60 minutes in school presentations given by Unique Creatures.  These presentations will provide up close encounters with live animals so that the students can gain a better understanding of the different classifications of animals and learn about their habitats and how these animals have specific body parts that suit their adaptation within their habitats.  They will participate in drawing these animals as babies and then adults.  Students may even have the opportunity to interact with the animals.  Total Cost:  $618.00 (two 60 minutes presentations for 40 students)
  • Mr. Pierro Weather Assembly:  John Marshall the meteorologis will come to school for a mobile weather studio assembly.  All students will become weathercasters for the day.  This assembly will be infused with STEM/STEAM technology as they will a leverage green screen just like they use on tv.   This assembly will match the Next Generation Science Standards.  This program will take place for grades K-1 (50 minutes) and for grades 2-3 (60 minutes) Total Cost: $2,050.00.
  • Mrs. Troiano - Botley Robots:  There are many educational objectives and outcomes that will be accomplished by using Botley depending on the grade level.  These robots are perfect for early childhood education.  They are a great tool to use to enhance STEM lessons for all grades by teaching kids how to code screen-free, tech algorithms and promoting critical thinking and problems solving skills.  Parents will be able to view the process of each grade level project through social medial postings and newsletter blasts.  We currently have 4 Botley robots for students to share hence requesting 6 more. Total cost 320.00
  • Mrs. Schechter’s Author Assembly:  Author Stephen Clifford’s books are patriotic and motivational and teach lessons about growing up which include self accountability, building self confidence, never quitting and getting off screens and being outside.  After a kickoff assembly, his books will be integrated into various activities in and out of the classroom.  The lessons and activities can go beyond the classroom and badges can be earned.  There will be goals and rewards for both in school and outside activities.  We can keep track of how many badges students earn. Set of 6 books $480.00 and Author Assembly / Speaking Fee $200.00
  • Mrs. Wozniak’s Living Wax Museum:  Request is to replenish the school’s library of “Who is” books of historical figures for the 50th grade students to read, write and then present about in the end of year “Living Wax Museum” assembly.  The cost of each book is about $5.99-$7.99 so approximate cost is about $240.00
  • Mrs. Graziano’s Paint Markers:  Request to purchase 20 packs of Posca Paint Markers for various art projects. This is a new art medium on the market and she thinks they are a great product.   This will be used in the next year as well since being purchased late in this school year.  Total Cost = $420.00
  • Mrs. Linden’s Tech Headphones and Organizer:  Request to replace class set of headphones for the Gould Tech Lab (25 for the tech lab, 15 for students in other classes to borrow / 40 total).  These headphones allow students to access audio within various platforms and programs such as Code. Org and Canva without disturbing those around them.  They also help support the diverse learning needs of our students.  Cost: 40 Headphones $315.00 and Organizer $15.00
  • Mrs. Norton’s Dinosaur Rocks Assembly:  This year,  the third grade students will learn about fossils this year.  Each third grade class will learn from Mrs. Norton about what fossils are, how to identify them, the tools that paleontologists use, and about layers of the earth and how the layers impact what fossils they will find.  All of this relates to the Next Generation Science Standards.  The Dinosaurs Rock assembly aims to enhance and synthesize a better understanding of fossils from the past.  The students will be able to see real fossils and make a comparison to their understanding of the past and the present through virtually experiencing and discovering real fossils.  The classes will be divided into a group of 3 classes and 2 classes for a more personal experience. Along with the presentation, the students will have an excavation experience where they “dig” for fossils.   All third graders will benefit from this experience. The total cost will be $1,895  for 86 students for two in person presentations. 

 

  • Ms. LaMorte’s Quest For Kindness Assembly (Assembly in September 2024 but deposit made this school year)  This programs help to prevent bullying through social emotional learning.  Quest for Kindness is an interactive and engaging program where students become adventurers as they go on an exciting journey in search of the Key of Kindness.  Along the way, students will actively participate in challenges that demonstrate healthy self awareness and social awareness.  This program combines social emotional learning and bullying prevention to create and entertaining and education experience students won’t forget.  The school wide assembly will be broken into 2 sessions.  The first for Kindergarten and First Grade and then another for the Second and Third Grade.  Each session will 45 minutes.  Teachers will then continue to conversations of being an upstanding citizen in the school community and will continue to do social emotional learning lessons in their classrooms.Total Cost of program= $1,495.00
